Yangon International Airport Wall Painting. Toa Payoh Vets A good photograph does not happen every day. On my 2nd visit to Yangon in Dec 2008, the lighting from the sun was just not there and none of my photographs were even half as good as the Oct 2008 one shown here.

A "Thanaka" Mother. For the first-time visitor to Myanmar, seeing so many young girls and women with yellowish-white powder on their faces in the countryside is an unforgettable sight.  The make-up is extracted from the plants, presumed to be named Thanaka. Paintings of Thanak girls are sometimes seen.
