 At
the age of 18 and the acquisition of top grades during
"O" levels, you may think that the world is your oyster.
Your Junior College examination results are important
for assessment in the internship at Toa Payoh Vets. If
your results are poor and you may a student of a top
junior college, your chances of acceptance are slim.
Prospects who
have poor Junior College 1 academic results but
straight As in "O" levels may be acceptable as
interns if their reasons are valid. However, if
you don't give priority to your academic results,
don't expect me to give you second chances as
there are many applicants with stellar academic
results.
Please note that we don't accept prospects who
just want to have a feel of veterinary medicine
and surgery for a week or two.
Learn how to manage your junior college time and
get the excellent academic results if you can
think about your future. It is fun to be involved
in outside activities, but in the final analysis,
you have to produce excellent academic results to
qualify for internship and undergraduate vet
studies. The world does not respect much your
leadership in the sports team if you have poor
academic results. Therefore, wake up early during
your Junior College 1 year and get your priorities
right. Performance counts whether you are a
student, an employee or a boss.
Learn how to submit a resume when you apply to us
for internship. Don't come for interview like a
blur king or queen. Your Junior College teachers
may not teach you this but you have to read up and
do your research. If you don't know what "resume"
means, go and do your research.
Vet interns take up
valuable time and space from me and my staff.
Therefore, Toa Payoh Vets will not accept interns
who are late for work or just take leave whenever
they feel like it. You may have straight As and
you will qualify for veterinary undergraduate
studies overseas, but the world does not owe you a
living or an obligation to provide you with
internships. If your attitude towards internship
is poor, your internship will be terminated
immediately as in this case.
